How does repression produce world class art? William Taylor and Ilir Parangoni ask this question in their talk on iconography in Albania under the Ottoman occupation.
William Taylor is the Vicar of St John’s Notting Hill and a published author on Orthodoxy under Islam.
Ilir Parangoni is an Albanian industrial archaeologist working as the Project Coordinator for Cultural and Eco tourism at the Albanian American Development Foundation
The book “The Creativity Behind The Wall” will be launched at this event in the presence of the Ambassador of Albania and copies of the book will be available.
The free lecture will be followed by a reception with Balkan food and wine.
